  34. SMBClient is the ftp-like utility for connecting to PC shares.
  35. It can 'talk' to a Lan Manager server and offers an interface
  36. similar to that of the ftp program (see ftp(1)). Operations
  37. include things like  getting files from the server to the local
  38. machine, putting files from the local machine to the server,
  39. retrieving directory information from the server and so on.

  41. Samba software is compatible with servers and clients running
  42. the SMB protocol: Window for Workgroups, Windows NT, Linux,
  43. UNIX etc.
